Since I am providing the entire album online, I figured I'd also give the explanation as to the reason for creating the album, and a little bit of story behind each of the songs.

"The Twilight" started as a meditation album, the original version of "The Twilight" being an extremely dark, slow song that made use of the binaural beats system used by Robert Monroe for astral projection and altering oneself to different states of consciousness. I started doing this because the soundscapes I had were not quite timeless and dark enough.

"The Twilight" is playing on the mistranslation of the word "Gotterdammerung", also known as Ragnarok in Norse Mythology and folk-culture, which is the final struggle between the gods and goddesses of Asgard, alongside the Einherjer, and the Giants led by Loki and the denizens of Helheim. Inspired by Norse tales I decided to make an album that, from start to finish, would detail the timeline of the human race. Each song is explained as we go from the creation of the universe, to Ragnarok and the dead twilight, to the rebirth of the world. I will not, however, give away all of the mysteries and enigmas hidden within my soundscapes. Listen closely and discover these yourself.

1: Orbis Terrarum: The universe emerges from a collision of fire and ice, and massive creation follows. The sounds of the first primordial giants can be heard and the forming of all the worlds.

2: Conception: Ask and Embla, or more or less Humans, are created. These first humans make love and give birth to the second generation, and so on, starting the story of our human race.

3: Morning of Time: Here we listen to time being recorded, records being kept, evolution through the ages, and many other things subtlety hidden in.

4: Astral Sonata: Humans have discovered spirituality and have been evolving towards Homo Sapiens.

5: The Voyage: This is the many thousands of years of time that passed from the first Homo Sapiens, and our gradual discovery of new technology and ways of living, from the ice age, through the bronze age, past the fall of Rome, and into the beginning of the dark ages around 1066.

6: Shores of Arcadia: The beginning of the Dark Ages and the many new faces of Europe and the world, we as Homo Sapiens have reached the shores of our paradise. Through the Renaissance and beyond we are rapidly changing our society, and rapidly coming to our own destruction. A poem I wrote called "Deliverance" is recited as the sound delivers us into our final age.

7: Xylem: The short period of flux that has been the past several hundred years, decorated with art movements, social movements, and more. The Xylem of Yggdrasil is beginning to rot and there is a great hush over what is coming.

8: Consummate Shadows: Starting with World War I and going through WWI, Korea, Vietnam, and the other world conflicts and revolutions, man has begun his descent into darkness. The global society is becoming sick and our race has consummated its marriage by having sex with the anti-life.

9: Umbral Interlude: The final period of relative stability, a hushed interlude between the breakdown of the society and total, global war.

10: Apocalypsis: Devastation in every form, this is the final battle of mankind as we make our final descent and end with our own annihilation. A very loud, graphic soundscape with the sounds of cities being destroyed, machine guns, people dying, and more.

11: Withering: The long silence after the storm of conflict, when everything has been destroyed. The last light of life fading, pulsating, flickering, and then being snuffed out. Earth has been withered and slain.

12: The Twilight: The long period of lifelessness in the universe. Almost nothing has survived and a surreal, supernatural reality embraces our world. Perpetual Twilight and the end of Asgard, the burning of Yggdrasil, the nothingness of suspension between life and death.

13: Reincarnation: After thousands or millions of years of nothingness, life is reborn in a growing, massive eruption of creation. The sun finally breaks through the clouds and our cycle of sex, conception, birth, life and death begins again, forever.

I hope you enjoyed this brief explanation of each track, and understand how the meanings correlate with the sounds. I encourage you to sit back in a dark room and let the music take you away into this storybook of sound, envisioning all that is going on with the ups and downs of the harmonies and melodies, and the sounds in between.
I've now uploaded all the Surrealist Unreal tracks released to date. This includes the entire reissue version of my debut album, "The Twilight", as well as the initial versions of three songs from the second album, to be finished sometime in 2008, called "Synesthesia". While these songs are not available to download, send me a message and I will mail you a free CD version of "The Twilight". I have materials to produce about 25 more albums, so feel free to ask for one!

In terms of new music, I am in the works of creating new songs and getting the appropriate recording equipment. Because I plan "Synesthesia "to be mostly an acoustic album with electronic/ambient backing, I need a few more things to be able to start recording new tracks. Check back often for details about upcoming songs and, in the future, possible events and performances in the Maine music scene.
